Destination: Ostsee
The Ostsee is a 3 hour drive from Berlin, thanks to the German Autobahn. Waking up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, German baked pastries and the glorious sea air is well worth the trip. There are several seaside towns to choose from like Wustrow, Ahrenshoop and just a little further are the islands Sylt, Rugen and Usedom. The German seaside is beautifully charming with stretches of white sand beaches lined with dunes and piers that extend into the water. The individual blue and white striped Strandkorb wicker beach chaises are just brilliant to enjoy the beach. Smart design with drawers that extend to stretch your legs, hooks to hang your towel and folding side tables to hold your beer.
Stroll around Ahrenshoop, the artists' colony sprinkled with straw thatched roof houses and check out the cultural offerings at the Kunstkaten. Enjoy lunch overlooking the Baltic sea on the terrace of the Seezeichen. Fresh salads and grilled fish accompanied by chilled wine or Bionade, organic fermented and carbonated refreshing beverages with flavors like Elderflower and Orange and Ginger from Bavaria.
The evenings are best over picnic spreads watching the sunset and gathering around bonfires at the beach with good company,
